MARINE ENGINE, GENERATOR SET AND GEARBOX
Engines used for ships can be called marine engines, marine engines or marine engines. Marine engines, also known as marine engines, are designed to handle operations on ships in difficult working conditions, in the surrounding environment of salty seawater. Therefore, marine engines must operate stably and reliably for a long time, while saving fuel and having a wide range of uses. Engines specifically designed for ships have high efficiency and large capacity range, suitable for water transport such as cargo ships, push trains, cruise ships, speedboats, public service ships, offshore fishing boats, barges with medium and large loads.
Because of the outstanding advantages that marine engines have, up to now, marine engines running on diesel fuel are the most popular. Marine engines using diesel are used as the main power for civil ships, small and medium ships, and conventional submarines.
Basically, marine engines can be divided into main engines and auxiliary engines based on their roles on the ship. The main engine is used to propel the ship, while the auxiliary engine is used to control the generator, air compressor or water pump on the ship.
Located between the marine engine and the propeller, the gearbox will be used to transmit power and change the gear ratio.
